Gerald Hovancik Jr.
Hello, my name is Gerald Hovancik Jr. and I am a graphic designer living in upstate New York. I have a bachelors degree in graphic design from the State University of New York at New Paltz and am currently employed as the Director of Creative Services in the Office of Communications and Marketing at Binghamton University. In this role, I oversee the Creative Services Department, which is responsible for outward facing marketing in both print design and website design and development.
Major accomplishments over the last 6 years at Binghamton University include designing and coding (HTML and CSS) 6 award-winning websites, designing an award-winning Foundation Annual Report, training 200+ faculty and staff in OU Campus, hosting a monthly OU Campus user group, active member of the Branding Task Force and co-chair of the Mobile Task Force.
What's next at Binghamton? My team and I are working on a brand facelift including a new logomark, colors and fonts, which should be rolled out over the next few months. We are also very excited to be working on the Grad School website redesign with a mobile first approach.
In addition to my full-time employment, I was also employed at Broome Community College for seven years as an Adjunct Instructor in the Business Technology Department where I taught a variety of classes that covered the Adobe Creative Suite, HTML and CSS.
I love design...web, print, industrial, architectural, etc. Less is more, white space, great typography, think & re-think.
